Tachometer |
vGauge Remote Sensor Units support 2-3 direct tachometer interfaces from most inductive sensors and ignition pulse generators Common 2-wire inductive flywheel senders can be directly attached without the need for a separate amplifier. The number of teeth on the flywheel can be programmed for each sensor independently along with pulse averaging and display scaling. 3-wire Hall effect sensors are supported as well. An 5 volt supply is available to drive the sensor with generates pluses based on magnets positioned on the rotating surface such as balancers and cam shaft sprockets. For older diesel engine applications - direct connection to old style VDO tach signal generators is supported Another common signal source is off the B-terminal on some alternators and also from the negative side of a spark coil. In all cases, tachometer calibration is easily performed by pulse scaling and averaging adjustments.
